However that's not to take anything away from Illuminations, for me the atmosphere when they light the torches is the best bit. The illuminations sparkling dessert party is not worth it, imho (booked it as a treat for hubbie) my view was worse than the Fast pass area (next door) It was way more crowded with people huddled around tall tables, the desserts were not plentiful and not as advertised, Ice cream was strictly rationed !!! There's only so much cheap wine you want to drink. If you can get Illuminations as a fourth fastpass, It's worth it because from what I've seen that area is pretty empty and you can sit on the floor, relax and eat snacks and drinks and soak up the atmosphere without a crowd. Is this recommended and worth the money I did want to do the. Please note you will have to stand to watch this show. Answer 1 of 8: Hi, I am thinking of booking the illuminations sparkling dessert party as a supprise for my fiancé (then wife) for our honeymoon, but I cant find a lot of information about it. I would walk a little further around the lake to experience less crowds. However it does get busy at the bottom of the lake nearest to the entry to the worldshowcase. There's plenty of viewing points around showcase lagoon, I would arrive around half an hour before it starts, I really don't think you have to stake out a spot any sooner than this. The party is offered on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 7:45 to 9:20 p.m. It is always a stunning end to a day at EPCOT. Epcot began offering a special IllumiNations dessert on March 15, 2014. It's not just about the fireworks, there's music, lazers, a big globe which tells a story and heeps of atmosphere. Illuminations is my husband's favourite fireworks show at WDW, so I've seen it alot over the years.
